Water
Rebates
Water conservation rebates are provided in King County through both the Saving Water Partnership and the Cascade Water Alliance.

Stop leaks
Silent leaks allow your water and money to go down the drain. On average 8% to 10% of household water is lost due to leaks in the toilet.

Replace older toilets
Replace older toilets, or even current 1.6 gallon code toilets, with high efficiency 1.0 gallon or dual-flush models that have earned the EPA's WaterSense label. Old toilets (pre 1994) are the biggest water user inside a house — replace it if you have one!

Upgrade your washing machine
Upgrade to a water- and energy-efficient front loading washing machine. Clothes washers are the second largest water user in your home behind the toilet.

Use high efficiency showerheads
Use high efficiency showerheads with low flow (2.0 gallon per minute or less). High performance, easy-to-install showerheads cut water and energy use and today's models are designed to provide a satisfying shower experience.

Install a water-efficient dishwasher
Fully-loaded dishwashers typically use less water than washing dishes by hand. ENERGY STAR qualified dishwashers save water as well as electricity.

Tune up your irrigation system
Irrigation systems can waste up to 50% of the water they use, due to leaks, runoff and evaporation. Tune up your irrigation system every year and consider adding a weather adjusting or 'smart' controller.

Use low-flow faucets
Install low-flow (1.0 gpm or lower) faucet aerators that have earned the EPA's WaterSense label on bathroom fixtures and 2.0 gpm aerators on kitchen faucets.
